The money has been paid to Merton by developers and landowners through the Community Infrastructure Levy to support the demands that development of new houses, flats and commercial buildings place on the borough. 
 
Merton Council will decide how this money can be used to support developments whether this may be by funding improvements to community facilities, green spaces, streetscapes or town centres, or related initiatives that enhance Merton as a place to live and work.
