Merton Council

Review of polling districts and polling stations 2021

Description:

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has recently undertaken an Electoral Review of the London Borough of Merton ward arrangements. As a result of the review, there have been alterations to the current ward boundaries which require changes to the polling districts within them.

Therefore, Merton is undertaking a review of its polling districts and also the location of polling places or stations for use at both national and local elections to mirror the changes to the ward boundaries. The changes to the Wards and Polling Districts will come into force at the Local Council Elections on 5 May 2022.

Local political parties, MPs and Councillors are being consulted and views are also invited from residents, disability groups and other stakeholders.

The formal consultation period begins on Monday 2 August 2021. Your comments on proposed arrangements should be sent to us in writing or via email by Monday 13 September 2021. Details of any representations received will be made available for inspection and will be published on the website at the conclusion of the review.

Details of these arrangements can be viewed on the Council’s website.
