Merton Council

LOW TRAFFIC NEIGHBOURHOODS Links Road

Description:

As part of Merton’s response in maintaining social distancing, removing rat running and to encourage safe walking and cycling, we will be introducing a temporary road closure on Links Road near its junction with Hailsham Road.
The proposed measure is being introduced under an Experimental Traffic Management Order, the restrictions and the Order will be in place for a maximum of 18 months. Anyone can object and make representations within the first six months of the experimental Order coming into force and the implementation of the works.
All representations will be considered prior to making a final decision which could include its removal, making any necessary modifications or making it permanent.

Summary of results:

After careful consideration of all the feedback received during the statutory consultation and the questionnaire, it has been agreed to make the experimental LTNs in Seely and Links Roads permanent. The permanent Order will be advertised on 14 October and will come into effect on 18 October 2021. Details of all the feedback received and officer's recommendations can be found on the Cabinet Member report.
