Wimbledon Village High Street Pedestrian and Cycle Zone

In response to coronavirus and to support our local businesses the Council intend to create a temporary
pedestrian & Cycle zone on the Village High Street. This will create a better environment for the local community and visitors, with more space for pedestrians to enjoy the village.

Following feedback received to the initial scheme, the Council has made a reduction to the restrictions. The restriction will apply on Sundays 9am - 4pm from Sunday 4 October 2020, This applies to vehicular access and parking.

The project will be implemented via an Experimental Traffic Order, which means we will seek and assess views on the scheme after it is implemented. We will monitor the effectiveness and impact of the scheme between now and January 2021. Dependant on feedback, a decision will be made early 2021 to either keep, modify or remove the experimental measures.
