Public Space Protection Order for the Public Right of Way between Rialto Road and Priestley Road

This is a statutory consultation on the making of a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) to restrict access to Public Right of Way 148 (PROW 148), located at the rear of Priestley Road and the rear of Rialto Road, starting at Eastfield Road and ending at Sandy Lane.  The proposal would see the restriction being enforced by means of alley gates to disrupt and prevent fly tipping of waste and other anti-social activities.

An informal consultation was undertaken in the summer of 2022.  This elicited a positive response from local residents to a proposal to install barriers to restrict access.  The full consultation stage will run from  9 November 2023 to 14 December 2023 and once completed, the Council will consider the proposal in the light of any representations.  If we decide to proceed, the required PSPO will be made and residents and other affected parties will be informed.
